Learning Hub and Cultural Centre

The St Pius X Primary School Reconciliation Project – Learning Hub and Cultural Centre aimed to remodel the existing library to create a flexible learning space for all learners.

Computers are now stored in a secure recharging trolley and there is a variety of seating options to suit all ages. The desktops are whiteboard surfaces, which the students requested and really enjoy using. There is a lot more display space to create learning walls to promote the local Awabakal history and language, and to display photographs of student activities and their work. While the Learning Hub is still used for library lessons, it is also used as a cultural centre to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. All this was made possible through the Federal Government Local Schools Community Grant 2020.
