Aboriginal Languages Week.
During NSW Aboriginal Languages Week, our Classroom 5 preschool children were introduced to the Awabakal language using Minimbah Local AECG’s Awabakal Language Resource. The children learnt how to say hello — kaayi — and goodbye — nginuwa. They also enjoyed singing and doing the actions to Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes, while beginning to learn the Awabakal names for body parts, such as toes — dhina — and hands — madara.
