Minimbah Dance Group Visit Nido Early School at Mount Hutton

On August 1st, we were honoured to welcome the Minimbah Dance Group from Hunter Sports High School, who shared powerful dances and stories with our children.

The Welcome and Cleansing Dance grounded us, with the boys stomping to connect with Mother Earth and the girls sweeping away bad spirits with leaves. The Spear Fishing Dance told the story of traditional fish traps, while the Tree Dance, guided by Uncle Richard Faulkner (Uncle Roo), showed how tools are respectfully made from the land and returned with care.

It was a wonderful morning celebrating and learning local culture and history through stories and dance.
